Isaac Cubillos aboard SS Lane Victory.

Isaac Cubillos has covered the military for more than 25 years as a reporter and editor. He has won several journalism awards, including a chapter award from the Society of Professional Journalists for his series of articles on the D-Day invasion of the Normandy beaches by soldiers of Hispanic origin.

He has weathered dozens of trap landings on and cat shots off aircraft carriers, flown in an F-14 Tomcat, F/A-18 Hornet, EA-6B Prowler, C-130s, MH-60 Seahawks, C-2 Greyhounds, UH-47s, SH-Sea King and C-20s.

He is a member of the board of directors of the Military Reporters and Editors Association. He also is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, Society of Military History, AFCEA International (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association), Military Writers Society of America and Online News Association.

He is the executive editor of Military Media Group. Previously, he was a copy editor for E.W. Scripps Newspapers. Prior to focusing on military reporting Isaac was:
